Major Upgrade of Campus Telephone System

In preparation for supporting telephone services in the new Library, IT@CSUMB will be upgrading the university’s twelve year-old telephone switch on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 8am to 8pm. Wired telephone services, including voice mail and blue light phones, will be disrupted during this time. Cell phone services and all phones on East Campus will operate as usual as well as the four “CENTREX” phones in the Emergency Operation Center in Building 82.

After the upgrade, all campus phones and voice mail boxes will retain their current configurations and will be operated in the same manner. Only the telephone switch “platform” will be upgraded in order to enable IT@CSUMB to support the new Library when it becomes operational.
