Central & North Campus TIU Telephone ConstructionA revised scheduled maintenance windows for the first of two major transitions to the new campus copper outside plant installed by the TIU project during the summer is posted here. This maintenance was originally scheduled for December 2006 but was postponed due to quality concern issues with the copper cables involved. Those issues have now been resolved.
All telephones and fax machines in the buildings indicated will experience a few short outages (minutes) as they are rolled over from the old copper cabling to the new. During these brief outages individual telephones and fax machines will be unable to initiate or receive phone calls.
All work will occur at night between 10:30 pm and 7:00 am during the maintenance window indicated for each building. All telephones and fax machines will be fully operational at all times during normal campus business hours between 7:00 am and 10:30 pm.
The maintenance works begins on March 4, 2007 and ends on May 17, 2007. At various times during this periods, the following buildings will be affected: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 80, 81, 82, 84, 86, 90, 91, 93, 97, 98, 100, 208, 210, 211, 301, 301, 303, 902 and VA.
