East Campus Cable Modem (Internet) Upgrade Coming on January 16th

Improved Internet coming to East Campus - Wednesday - January 16th

• IT@CSUMB will be upgrading the Cable Modem System in East Campus in order to provide better Internet Service on Wednesday, January 16th, between 8am and 5pm.
• All Cable Modems and TV's in East Campus will experience outages to both services during this time frame.
• Cable TV on Main Campus will also be effected very briefly during the cutover.
• No other Campus network services will be effected.
• After the upgrade:
  • Modems should come back online automatically without user intervention.
  • CSUMB is substantially increasing the system's total throughput - all users should experience improved data rates.
  • All DOCSIS 1.1 or higher modems will work.
  • TV Services should be unaffected.
