Several important changes have been made to the computers in the Reference Area of the library:

  • 6 additional machines are now available for general use (the total number of general use machines is now 51).
  • 48 of the 51 machines received the latest Windows 7 loadset, are set to only run Windows and are no longer dual-boot.
  • 3 of the 51 machines (stations 21, 22 and 23) received the latest Mac OS X loadset, are set to only run Mac OS X and are no longer dual-boot.

The elimination of the dual-boot option will substantially speed the overall login process for most users and the decision to set most of the machines to Windows 7 was based on historical usage.
