On March 12, 2012, Google will combine 60 different privacy policies across all Google services into one policy. There has been an increasing amount of press covering this announcement and some questions have started to come in to the help desk that we thought many people might have about their CSUMB accounts.

Google provides CSUMB with its Google Apps for Education suite of products. Many of those products are the same consumer products that are covered by the new privacy policy however the core group of applications we use are NOT covered by the new agreement and will continue to be covered by the agreement between the California State University system and Google. These apps include:

  • Gmail
  • Calendar
  • Documents
  • Contacts
  • Google Talk (Chat)
  • Sites
